Your Cholesterol is high, and you don’t want to take medication. Heres what to do….

*Disclaimer: This is not medical advice. This is from our anecdotal experience with ourselves/clients. Please consult your physician before making any changes to your medication or lifestyle.*

This is an all too common scenario with people that look to enter the Sage community, and maybe you can relate yourself. Picture this:

You schedule and attend your annual physical about 6-8 months later than you should.

You haven’t been the best with your fitness and eating habits but you don’t feel like you’ve gone off the deep end.

You take your blood work, not sure what to expect.

You get that blood work back with some unsettling news that some readings aren’t where you want them to be.

The readings show that *blank* reading is high. This could be cholesterol, triglycerides, or some other health marker.

The doctor recommends medication, but you have some gripes about that. Or maybe you don’t think twice.

BEFORE you decide to go on medication, (or along with getting on medication) we suggest taking a birds eye view at your lifestyle and see what are your biggest opportunities to improve. Cholesterol takes a while to make changes too, so here’s what we suggest…..

  1. Block out 12 weeks of your life, and hire a personal trainer, nutritionist, or commit to a fitness and nutritional routine with a goal of overall health.
  2. Eat a healthy diet with Higher protein, whole Foods, minimal Sugar, and healthy fats.
  3. Drink 6-8 bottles of water a day.
  4. Get as best sleep as you can (make it a conscious effort)
  5. Schedule a 3 month retest with your GPP (deadlines improve adherence to habit change)
  6. Take the test, and schedule a follow up with GPP to go over new results.
